EXPLAIN chosen to study Pedestrian flows in Lyon Part-Dieu train station

hall_image-gauche Designed to accommodate 35 000 passengers per day, the station is currently used by 130 000 passengers a day and is expected to receive more than 200 000 passengers per day by 2030.

EXPLAIN was already selected for the cost benefit evaluation of the project to create a new L track, next to the existing K track. We have now been selected to study passenger flows between the platforms and the passenger area.

The study quantifies delays and congestion phenomenons around the stairs and feeds into the evaluation of a project to create a new entrance on the South giving direct access to the platforms from the avenue Pompidou.

The port of Dunkirk chooses EXPLAIN to design the highway network for its CAP2020 program

The port of Dunkirk is investigating the technical feasibility of its development program called CAP2020. Four scenarios are being studied to develop the capacity of the port. In that context, EXPLAIN brings expert advice on the traffic impact of the different scenarios and designs the required highway infrastructure. Our recommendations are based on modelling and simulation techniques which are used to optimize the proposed solutions.

EXPLAIN joins the Audit team evaluating the cost benefit analysis of the metro line 14 extension project which is part of Grand Paris EXPRESS

Grand ParisFollowing the recent government decision 2013-1211 dated December 2013, the cost benefit analysis of every public investment higher than 100M€ must be audited by an independent team of recognized experts.

In that context, the Commissariat Général à I‘Investissement has chosen EXPLAIN to join the team of experts looking at the line 14 extension which is part of the Grand Paris Express investment program.

The pertinence and robustness of the cost benefit analysis carried out by Société du Grand Paris are evaluated. The team of experts produces a report which is made available for the public enquiry.

RFF chooses EXPLAIN to provide technical support during the public enquiry for the GPSO High Speed project

During this crucial phase in the life of the project, EXPLAIN is supplying technical support to RFF by providing elements of response to the range of questions raised in the course of the public enquiry. Our economists and modellers are fully mobilized producing notes and analysis, participating in meetings in a reactive manner, and contributing to the objectivity of the debate and the strength of the project.

The Principality of Monaco chooses EXPLAIN to study the impact of the urban project “Ilot Charles III”

Located on the western entrance of the Principality, where a new tunnel and several development programs are planned, the project will add movements to a complex and already constrained environment.

Our mission is study the impact of the project on traffic and propose solutions that optimize the efficiency of the surrounding highway network.

The Paris port Authority choose EXPLAIN to assist with the public enquiry for the PSMO project

The PSMO project is a tri-modal freight interchange between rail/Road and inland navigation which aims at developing non-road based freight movements. The project concerns a 100 hectares site located around Achère and aims to attract construction and public works activities.

Our mission concerns the impact of the project on traffic flows around the site (especially lorries). Our advice includes the caracterisitcs of the port infrastructures and their connection with the main highway network.
