I am a transport planning engineer. I work mainly as a project manager and project director on mobility studies, the development of public transport or the redevelopment of multimodal exchange hubs. I am also responsible for operations and my role is to ensure that the work environment allows projects to be carried out in the right conditions.
No two days are the same! The days are organized according to meetings and customer points, exchanges with office colleagues and study managers... The work is always organized around projects, the objective being to deliver on time, according to the needs of the client and with the expected levels of expertise and quality. This requires managing the schedules, the production of the study managers, the feedback on the elements produced and the technical summaries of the studies. It also requires making sure that everything is going well for the teams, that the workloads are right and that the working conditions remain optimal. There is a very stimulating human side.
I chose to come and work at Explain because I knew the management team and shared their approach to the design office. I also came to find former office colleagues with whom I got along well, the social side is very important to me. The size of the company was a strong point: there is much more autonomy and freedom than in large design offices, a greater diversity of studies and no need to fill out a form to get a box of paper clips.
