In the heart of Val d'Europe Agglomération, Esbly station is a strategic point of articulation between the Transilien P and T14 railway lines and the future Esbly—Val d'Europe Clean Site Public Transport (TCSP EVE). Faced with the saturation of parking, the complexity of bus traffic and the lack of legibility of pedestrian and bicycle paths, the community has entrusted Explain with the mission of updating and finalizing the reference diagram for the multimodal exchange hub.
The study, conducted between 2023 and 2025, was structured around three phases: appropriation of the historical diagnosis (2016—2019), co-construction of development scenarios and development of the reference diagram.
Conducted in close consultation with Île-de-France Mobilities, the Department of Seine-et-Marne, SNCF Gares & Connexions and carriers, the approach made it possible to define a shared project reconciling operating performance, urban quality and accessibility for all.
The final plan, organized in two stages — before and after the commissioning of the TCSP EVE — provides for the complete reconfiguration of the north bus station, the creation of a pedestrian square to the south, the strengthening of bicycle parking (up to 160 places in the long term), the establishment of secure drop-off areas and the integration of green islands of freshness.
The project also includes a redefinition of bus traffic, the improvement of the safety of pedestrian crossings and the establishment of a zone 30 on Avenue Foch and Rue Félix-Faure.
The reference framework, validated in September 2025, sets the operational, financial and calendar framework for the developments, the first achievements of which are expected from 2026.
Requalify the Esbly station hub to make it a coherent, accessible and sustainable mobility hub, in line with the ambitions of the Val d'Europe region.
With the reference diagram for the Esbly cluster, Explain supported Val d'Europe Agglomération in the definition of a structuring project reconciling intermodality, safety and urban attractiveness. This work marks a decisive step in making Esbly station a true multimodal correspondence center, adapted to the current and future needs of the territory.
